1. You are allowed to have as many characters as you wish. It may be a better idea to start with only one, because you will need to remain active and get used to this site. However, if you feel that you can have more than one, go ahead. We allow up to three at once, if you want to create any more after that we do ask that you have 100 posts completed for each character before starting a new one.
To begin, you must have an original or a canon character.
We do ask that you create an account for each of your character, to stop from confusion, but always mention your name in the character application.
2. Only role-play your own characters. Never write thoughts, actions, or dialogue for a character other than your own, unless it has been discussed before. If we recieve a complaint you will be warned. After three warnings you will be blocked for 2 weeks, and after a fourth you will be banned.
3. Please supply a signature image for your character(s). Just remember: your signature image(s) MUST NOT stretch the page. If they do, you will be asked to resize them. Image may be no more then: 500 x 500. [500 width x 500 height] If it exceeds this limit, it will be fixed.
4. Keep up with the posts. Feel free to jump in anywhere but first take a moment to see what's going on for the sake of continuity.
5. We don't ask that you get along with everyone. But we do ask that you at least show respect. If for some reason, you are having trouble getting along with a person, leave the thread. PM one of the staff if you want to complain, and we will deal with the problems.
6. Quality! Good spelling, grammar, and plotlines add to everyone's rp enjoyment.
NO ONE-LINERS! We have a 35 Word minimum in our posts; you cannot post with fewer words.
7. Characters' thoughts are to be typed in italics. (It helps keep every member on the same page.)
8. Keep in-character knowledge separate from out of character knowledge. Yes, we all know Peter ends up betraying the Marauders; that Lupin is a Werewolf, Snape loves Lily, but no one else knows that. So, really, should your character?
9. Absolutely NO mind-readers, Animagi, Werewolves, Vampires, Elves, characters who are long-lost and/or distant relatives of book characters, or anything of that sort unless you say so in your form at the beginning and have it approved by an administrator.
10. Take extra time and effort with your Character Application. Do what you can with the questions asked of you. If your Character Application is not up to par, you will be asked to try again. Once you are sorted, you may begin to role-play.
11. This is rated 14+, but you may witness mature adult themed RPs. Please use your brain as to what curse words are ok in certain sitituations. The F word every post is not.
12. Please no overly powerful characters. If I see that you have them, without them being cleared by an admin, you will be asked to edit your posts.
Also, the use of the 'Forbidden Curses' is considered illegal in the Wizarding world. If you choose to use them and get caught you will receive some sort of punishment. UNLESS it is cleared. For example, if you are an evil character.
13. Please keep sex private. We will have a board with a password for that to keep it from people that do not want to read it. If we do see post of explicit sex, the ones involved will be asked to move it to the password protected board.
14. If the killing of a character is going to happen, then please inform an admin of it. Also, please do not kill off your character by means of suicide, drug over dose, or anything similar. These are very sensitive subjects and shall not be found here.
15. If you wish to play a character that has feelings for members of the same sex, that is perfectly alright. If you fill out an application form, add a smiley behind your character's name to show that you have read the rules.
16. Show respect towards the other role-players. We are an online community; please leave racism, inappropriate jokes and unkindness out.
If you break the rules once, you will be warned.
If you break the rules three times, you will be banned for 2 weeks of posting.
If you break the rules four times, your character will be deleted.
If you break the rules after that, with another character, you will be banned from this site.
